The EarthBound Cardboard Stand is a promotional item that was released in North America in 1995 by Nintendo of America. It was used by select video game retailers to promote the release of EarthBound, a role-playing game that was released for the Super NES on June 5, 1995.
Designed as a counter stand, the EarthBound cardboard stand is decently-sized at 15.5 inches tall and 12 inches wide with a 7.5-inch base to hold it up. It basically recycles and slightly rearranges the images that are found on the EarthBound poster.
Video game promotional material is generally hard to find, especially for a game as old as EarthBound. Because of its uniqueness and rarity, this item is in high demand among EarthBound fans.

I would love to have this in my room. Do stores throw out the cutouts after they’re done with them? I should just go to gamestop and ask if I can have a stand when they’re done with it just to see what they say.
(Posted July 14, 2010)Stores usually throw promotional materials away if none of the employees want them. When I worked at Toys R Us, a woman asked me if she could have a Harry Potter cutout that I was planning to throw out, so I gave it to her. If you ask nicely, you might get lucky.
(Posted July 14, 2010)Some stores don’t like to give out their display material because they’re concerned people will resell them on eBay for profit, but if you find the right store they’ll be nice to you.
(Posted November 11, 2010)I find it amusing that the cutout’s price is basically the same as the games right now.
